For many years I have been wanting to take a trip up north to the New England states to see the beautiful Fall foliage. But each year it seemed like I would miss my chance for whatever reasons and just hope to make the trip the following year. I finally decided that 2006 would be different. I just celebrated a birthday in late September and October 1st was my 10 year anniversary of being tobacco free so I decided this is the year to do it!
My travels took me from Tampa to Manchester NH - Nashua NH - Old Orchard Beach ME - Franconia NH - Montréal QC - and back to Manchester NH - with a few little stops in Vermont and elsewhere. I got my 1st glimpse of the beautiful Fall foliage as we approached our landing at the Manchester Airport. For the next 5 days I saw many areas while they were still at peak color. On the following pages I'll share with you 146 photos I took during my Fall vacation.
I booked just about everything online. My direct flight from Tampa to Manchester NH and my Alamo rental car was all booked through Southwest Airlines. Except for the motel room in Franconia NH all of my lodging was booked through Hotwire and I got some very good prices. I used Google Maps for all of my driving directions and they were excellent. I had a really good time just exploring and getting a feel for each of the locations I went to. The weather was fantastic for nearly the whole week with temps in the 50's to the 30's and for this Tampa boy that was a very welcome cool down.
Each day of my trip had something different to offer and I had some great experiences. The thing about a trip like this is you usually get many ideas for what you'd like to do the next time you go and this trip was no exception. Traveling is one of the best things a person can do to expand horizons and gain appreciation for what life is like in places outside of our own world. I hope to do lots more soon.
Here's to your pleasurable journeys through life.
Happy Trails and Enjoy.. Bobby
