On the third day of my trip I left Franconia NH and headed northwest towards Canada. I went through a small section of Vermont and got to the border in no time. I was excited to be in Canada again (I visited Ottawa & Toronto about 20 years ago). The countryside was pretty and the foliage was beautiful and I was looking forward to arriving in Montreal. I was impressed as I approached the city by the size of it. I got to the Hyatt Regency quite easily and the service was excellent. The staff all spoke English and made me feel right at home. I got an excellent room on the 11th floor and had a decent view of the city. I headed out for some exploring on foot. The Hyatt is right in the middle of downtown and I had no problem finding my way around. There are some funky little sections of town near the hotel too that I found tempting. I like big cities and this is one that I'd love to spend much more time in. That nite I went to a Ottawa Senators vs Montreal Canadiens hockey game and had a good time. I must say it was a little weird rooting for the Habs since I'm a diehard Lightning fan but I certainly wasn't going to root for the Sens. I like to drink beer.. not have it poured on me. LOL. Later that nite I did a little more walking around the city. Good times. J'aime Montréal!
